Adoptată la 29 iulie 1994, Constituția Republicii Moldova a intrat în vigoare la 27 august 1994. Legea supremă prevede că Republica Moldova este un stat suveran, independent, unitar şi indivizibil, și menționează aspirațiile de instaurare a statului de drept, democrația, drepturile și libertățile omului drept valori supreme. Aceasta servește drept memento pentru cetățenii Republicii Moldova să celebreze pilonii fundamentali ai democrației și să se bucure de respectul pentru drepturile și libertățile omului garantate de Constituție.

Конституция Республики Молдова была принята 29 июля 1994 г. и вступила в силу 27 августа того же года. Высший закон гласит, что Молдова является суверенным, независимым, унитарным и неделимым государством, и упоминает стремление к установлению верховенства закона, демократии, прав и свобод человека как высших ценностей. Она служит напоминанием для граждан Республики Молдова о необходимости соблюдать основополагающие принципы демократии и пользоваться уважением прав и свобод человека, гарантированных Конституцией.

The constitution of the Republic of Moldova was adopted on July 29, 1994 but entered into force on August 27, 1994. The supreme law provides that Moldova is a sovereign, independent, unitary and indivisible state, and mentions the aspirations to establish the rule of law, democracy, and human rights and liberties as supreme values. It serves as a reminder to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to celebrate the fundamental pillars of democracy, and enjoy the respect for human rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution.
